When no one else shows up, here’s who should
She's actually your everything bagel 🥯
Hi
Sometimes I send myself cards in the mail.
Ones with hand written letters. Little notes to my future self from my past self, reminding her that she’s doing great, keep going.
It started a few years ago when I was sad and bought myself a Valentine's Day card because my crush said he “wasn’t into labels”... and then posted a pic praising his girlfriend.
WHAT GIRLFRIEND?!
My love language for how I like to receive love is ‘words of affirmation.’ Basically, that means I thrive on communication, and hearing regular, verbal affirmations from my partner (or crush) that they adore me.
So obviously, this whole ‘he affirms his love for someone who isn’t me,’ thing was in direct opposition to what I wanted to hear from him.
But this isn’t a story about him.
It’s about the moment I stood in the CVS aisle, holding a glittery card that said, You’re my everything bagel, and thought: “Honestly? I am.”
Cut to me writing a love letter to myself in the CVS parking lot like I was starring in the off-brand version of a Greta Gerwig film—low budget, high emotion, zero male leads in sight.
What started as an act of rebellion (or, self-pity tbh) has become a fun self-love practice that gives me more than an affirmation.
In fact, writing letters to yourself is actually MAJOR manifestation tool.
What kind of tool?
Scripting! Have ya heard or it?
Because here’s the thing: we spend so much time learning to love others in their language—acts of service, words, quality time—but forget we can use the same cheat code on ourselves, based on our OWN love language.
When you show yourself love first, you’re not just “being nice” to yourself—you’re tuning your energy to a higher frequency. Think of it like becoming a walking radio tower for good things.
The more you affirm your worth, the more you act like someone who deserves what she wants, the more the universe mirrors that back.
Self-love signals that you’re ready to receive, and it’s magnetic—your goals, opportunities, and aligned people can’t help but gravitate toward you.
When you know how you best receive love—and actually give it to yourself—you start shifting into the version of you who expects good things.
And that’s when everything changes.
Which brings me to you. And this question:
🤔 How do you show up for you, based on your love language?
I made you a list of things you can do for yourself, based on the different love languages!
Check it out here:
Sure, the day I wrote myself that card, I felt ridiculous. And then I felt... something else.
Seen. Loved. Held—by me.
Here’s your reminder: you’re not needy for needing love. You just finally remembered you’re worth your own attention
So—what love language are you speaking today?
Hit reply and tell me. Or better yet, write yourself a love letter. I promise it’s not weird. (Okay, maybe a little.) But it really is life-changing.
